Kiki Rivera

Kiki Rivera (she, they, we) is an internationally produced, award-winning theatre artist, educator, and arts activist with her BA in Theatre and MFA in Playwriting from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM). Original plays include Puzzy (featuring award-winning New Zealand Playwright Victor Rodger), and Faʻalavelave: The Interruption. Their work appears in the anthologies: Samoan Queer Lives, Lighting the Way: An Anthology of Short Plays About the Climate Crises.

Offered Piece: ‘O Kawailoa, a poem and meditation honoring a powerful presence resting within the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum. This piece asks us to consider the stories of what co-exists beside us; in the particular case of Kawailoa, its story reminds us of our relationship to ancestors, to land, and to plants.
